When Casa de Lana Took Over LanArte – Knitting Joy, Community, and Full Shopping Bags

Do you remember the weekend in September when we packed the car full of our softest treasures and set course for IFA in Alicante? The LanArte Festival 2025 was an experience we will live on for a long time. There is something truly special that happens when hundreds of knitting enthusiasts gather under one roof – the air isn't just filled with yarn dust, but with a warmth and inspiration that reminds us why we love what we do.

It feels almost like yesterday that we stood there, excited and expectant in front of our own stand. We had worked for weeks picking out the very best yarn we have, and with over 50 exhibitors present, it was an honor to show off our little piece of Casa de Lana.

The Best Team

None of this would have been possible without our fantastic team. Standing there together, dressed in our white Casa de Lana shirts, ready to welcome both familiar faces from the shop in Alfaz and brand new acquaintances, was simply moving. We got to show off the breadth of what we are passionate about – from the softest merino to our more exclusive qualities.

A Heartwarming Response

What warmed us the most was the feedback from those of you who stopped by. Jane Lill, one of our lovely customers, described it so beautifully afterwards: "They had everything from merino and cotton to yak, camel hair and cashmere. So tempting... and I did not go home emptyhanded."

Such words go straight to the heart! Hearing that our stand felt like an extension of the atmosphere we try to create in the shop every day – relaxed, welcoming, and full of creative joy – means everything to us.

The Knitting Cafe Lives On

Even though the festival weekend is over for now, we are taking that energy into our everyday life here in Alfaz del Pi. For those of you who might have missed LanArte (or just miss the gang), remember that the good vibe continues every single week. Every Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, we set up our regular knitting cafe in the center of Alfaz. You don’t need to sign up – just bring your knitting, lower your shoulders, and join the community. Perhaps with something good in your glass?

We are already looking forward to the next time we can go to a yarn festival, but until then, we are enjoying the weekdays together with you in the shop.

Were you tempted by the qualities Jane Lill mentioned? We have stocked the online store with favorites from the festival:
